Description

Azithromycin is an antibiotic medicine that is available at a segmental dose of 500mg to cure many types of infections in humans invoked by bacteria. It is a macrolide antibiotic. It works by stopping multiplying bacteria and killing them. However, this is not helpful for viral infections (like the common cold or flu). The improper or needless use of any antibiotic may result in decreased effectiveness. Take the tablet by mouth as instructed by your physician, typically once daily with or without food. You may take this tablet with food if stomach upset occurs. The dosage depends on your health condition and how you respond to the therapy. For maximum effect, take the antibiotic evenly spaced throughout the day. This might serve as a reminder to take it at the same time each day.

How To Use?

  • Azithromycin is a tablet that is ordinarily consumed once every day by delivering 1 to 5 doses of that medicine as a whole by mouth.
  • Moreover, be around the same time each day.
  • Carefully follow the instructions given on your prescription label, and also request your physician or pharmacist to clarify any part that you do not comprehend.
  • Take azithromycin exactly as directed. Do not consume more or less than what was prescribed, nor take it more frequently than advised by your physician.
  • Immediately contact your doctor if vomiting occurs within an hour after taking azithromycin. Your physician will let you know if you need to take an additional dose.
  • Don’t take another dose unless directed to do so by your doctor.
  • In the initial days of treatment with azithromycin, you should start feeling better. If you have not improved or feel worse, contact your doctor.
  • Complete the azithromycin even if feeling better. Never stop short of the azithromycin dosage unless experiencing severe side effects .
  • If side effects are recorded in their entirety short and not complete, or if any amount is skipped during a dosing day, the infection has failed to be cleared completely and any bacteria may then develop antibiotic resistance.
  • Request your pharmacist or physician to obtain a copy of the patient information from the manufacturer.

Medicinal Benefits

Azithromycin 500mg tablets inhibit growth or even kill the harmful bacteria by preventing their production of proteins necessary for their survival. Azithromycin 500mg tablets under treatment will prevent and cure bacterial infections like throat and sinus infections, chest infections (like bronchitis and pneumonia), ear infections, mouth and dental infections, eye infections, skin and soft tissue infections (like acne), and infections of the stomach and intestines. It is better tolerated and penetrates tissue more effectively than other similar antibiotics like erythromycin. Azithral-500 Tablet is prescribed mainly to patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics. Azithral also protects from infection following burns, surgery and dental procedure, sexually transmitted infections, bone infections, and scarlet fever (bacterial illness with strep throat).

  • Let your physician and pharmacist know what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are currently taking or intend to take while on azithromycin.
  • Your physician may need to adjust the dosages of your medications or monitor you closely for adverse effects. If you are using antacids that contain aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide (Maalox, Mylanta, Tums, and others), you must allow a gap between taking a dose of these antacids.Tell your physician if you ever have had jaundice (yellowing of skin or eye) or had problems with your liver taking azithromycin, as your doctor will most likely direct you against taking azithromycin.
