Linezolid 200Mg Infusion: Linezolid is employed in the treatment of bacterial skin and lung infections (pneumonia). It is also employed in treating infections resistant to other antibiotics, i.e., vancomycin-resistant enterococcal infections. Bacterial infections are the result of the proliferation of harmful bacteria within or on the body. Linezolid is not effective against infections due to the virus, i.e., cold and flu.
Linezolid is a drug that has Linezolid as its active ingredient, which acts by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins required for the growth and proliferation of bacteria, eventually killing the bacteria. It therefore treats the infection caused by the bacteria. In most instances, you will get some minor side effects, including thrush (a fungal infection), headache, metallic taste, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, constipation, and indigestion. All of these side effects require medical intervention and will gradually disappear with time.
Medical Benefits:
- Linezolid is an antibiotic drug that belongs to the oxazolidinone class, used to provide treatment for skin and lung bacterial infections.
- Linezolid is also used to treat vancomycin-resistant enterococcal infections, diabetic foot infections, intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, and accompanying bacteremia.
- Linezolid inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause infection. It thereby cures the bacterial infection.
Uses:
- Linezolid effectively treats community-acquired and hospital-acquired pneumonia due to susceptible bacteria.
- Linezolid is indicated for the treatment of mild to severe skin and underlying tissue bacterial infections. It is also used to treat diabetic foot infections without concomitant bone infection.
- Linezolid is used for Enterococcus faecium bacterially caused infections resistant to vancomycin, such as intra-abdominal infections, soft tissue and skin infections, urinary tract infections, and simultaneous bacterial infections.
